for the project "SAKONNAKHON SHOW CASE” This is a continuation of the technology transfer, research to the community, which is a part of the research project on textile design in the handicraft approach to promote local designers with community participation. The identity and patterns developed in this project can tell the stories of Sakon Nakhon in 3 eras: 1. Prehistoric era, patterns of prehistoric creatures such as dinosaurs, land crocodiles, tortoises, bony fish, and various footprints, etc. 2. Prehistoric era, such as patterns on the cave walls of Phu Pha Yon Cave and Phu Pha Kham Cave. 3. Historical era up to the present, such as patterns of important places in Sakon Nakhon Province, the provincial flower, Pla Kam, Sakon boxing, or Phu Thai dance, etc. All of this equipment can help those who want to design but are not confident in drawing or cannot draw. They can use it, practice until they are proficient, and develop it into skills that can be used as a profession.
For this project, there were participants in the project, including 4 research professors, 50 students and community groups, including the Thai Thep Phu group, the Huen Nang Kram group, the Ban Nakham weaving group, the embroidery and painting group, the Pairat Indigo Cloth Shop, the Tam Huai Wiset Kram Shop, and approximately 100 executives, professors and guests who attended the event.
All works in the project are designed to reflect the beauty of local wisdom, combined with contemporary design concepts based on the imagination and uniqueness of each designer. It not only demonstrates the capabilities of local craftsmen and designers, but also reinforces the potential of the community to create valuable and creative works to develop the economy and promote culture at the local and national levels. The works not only tell the stories of handicrafts from the craftsmanship of various designers, both those with high expertise and skills and new designers with no background at all, by using equipment and patterns created by the researchers, by telling stories of the past, but also linking to the creations of the present and the future.
