          In the evening of May 27, 69, the opening ceremony of the 42nd Thailand University Staff Games was held. Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presided over the opening ceremony. Associate Professor Dr. Cholwit Chiarajit, President of Srinakharinwirot University, welcomed the guests and spoke about the university's readiness and potential to host the games. Associate Professor Dr. Chusit Pradabpetch, Chairman of the University Sports Association of Thailand, also spoke about the history and objectives of the competition. The opening ceremony included performances such as "Thewanarumit Prasarnmit Club" by the Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School (Secondary Division), "SWU LOVES: Empowering Together" by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, and "From Small Power to Great Power: The Bonds of Higher Education" by students and staff of Srinakharinwirot University, along with a parade featuring the national flag, the University Sports Association flag, the games' flag, and the games' mascot. The ceremony includes raising the spectator torch to the top of the pole to the sound of the competition's anthem, a representative of the athletes leading the oath, and the presentation of the torch to light the competition's flame.

The Games feature contingents from 65 educational institutions in Thailand, with over 7,895 athletes and officials competing for 472 gold medals in 19 sports: basketball, football, futsal, athletics, swimming, volleyball, sepak takraw, hoop sepak takraw, tennis, table tennis, badminton, petanque, golf, ballroom dancing, aerobics, woodball, e-sports, and board games (Thai chess) and korfball.
