RMUTI, together with the 2nd Army Area and the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology, visited the area to test the research system of the project to develop a communication operation vehicle to integrate the communication system of the Ministry of Defense, with the goal of supporting the security of the Ministry of Defense and helping people from various disasters.

On January 21, 2568, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan by Associate Professor Dr. Kosit Sriputhon RMUTI President gives Assistant Professor Dr. Anek Charoenpakdee Deputy Rector for Strategy, Policy and Planning, together with the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defense, led by Lieutenant General Naraset Pongcharoen Director-General of the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology and the 2nd Army Region led by Major General Kittisak Thaworn The Chief of Staff of the 2nd Army Area visited the 2nd Army Area to observe the test of the communication vehicle system under the project to develop a communication vehicle to integrate the communication system of the Ministry of Defense, which is one of the research projects by Rajamangala University of Technology Isan with research funds from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology (DIT), a unit under the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, as the beneficiary. This project can integrate the communication system to support the missions of the Ministry of Defense agencies in the missions of security and disaster relief, to prevent, protect public interests, and help the people. There were more than 200 executives and personnel from both agencies in attendance.

For the project to develop a communication vehicle to integrate the Ministry of Defense’s communication system, it arose from various obstacles such as floods, storms, or other disasters, which are often followed by failures of the communication system and the inability to obtain timely information from the disaster area. Therefore, the agencies providing assistance are unable to obtain up-to-date information to assess the situation and provide assistance in a timely manner. The Ministry of Defense, as a security agency, has another duty to assist in tasks beyond its normal duties, such as disaster prevention and mitigation. In the past, the Ministry of Defense Command Center was established to link the communication system with relevant government agencies and units both inside and outside the Ministry of Defense to monitor the situation and support the government’s operations in solving security problems and helping people affected by disasters who still have problems and obstacles in communication. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense needs to research and develop a communication vehicle to integrate the Ministry of Defense’s communication system to support the government’s missions, the decision-making of commanders to prevent and maintain public benefits, and help the people.

For research, the project to develop a communication vehicle to integrate the Ministry of Defense’s communication system, conducted by Rajamangala University of Technology Isan with the NBTC fund, is considered a development of a communication system that can integrate in many ways, is safe, fast, and has alternative systems for use appropriately for the incident, location, and environment. It can monitor the situation and support the government’s mission, including the decision-making of the commander. Communication equipment, image and sound recording equipment, and a power generator have been installed on a small commercial truck. The equipment can start communication within 1 minutes after entering the situation area. Of course, the communication vehicle will be able to integrate the communication system to support the mission of the Ministry of Defense’s agencies in the security and disaster relief missions, as well as high-ranking commanders of the Ministry of Defense and the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defense. They can monitor the situation in the area and receive important information to support decision-making at the Ministry of Defense’s command center. In the event of a disaster, the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defense, through the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology (DIT), will be one of the first agencies to reach the disaster area. It can plan, coordinate, and support various communication tasks, including radio, frequency, satellite images, and the installation of telephone communication systems, which will be able to help the people quickly and promptly. If the communication vehicles in this research can help solve problems and obstacles in the communication system in disaster areas, the assistance will be more effective.

For this system test in the area of ​​the 2nd Army, the actual system of the Communication Division, Digital Center, Department of Defense Information and Space Technology was tested. The simulation and full system testing were conducted in normal communication conditions and abnormal communication conditions, such as communication congestion in the area. After this test, the results will be adjusted to meet the needs of the users and the system will be tested again at the Defense Battalion, Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defense. There will also be training for related personnel to gain knowledge and understanding in both theory and practice, totaling 3 courses, before the communication operation vehicles in this project are delivered to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defense by the Department of Defense Information and Space Technology for use in future missions.
