Mr. Pisit Boonklay A specialist in human resources from the Energy Human Resource Development Division, Department of Alternative Energy Development and Conservation (DEDE), Ministry of Energy, reported on the objectives of the project, which was held from July 8-10, 2569, at the RMUTI-CHELOVE EV TRAINING CENTER, Faculty of Engineering and Technology Building, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

          The "Electric Vehicle (EV) New Skills Development Training Program for the Automotive Industry, 4th Edition" is part of the EV New Skills Development Project, conducted by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Conservation (DAEDC) in collaboration with EnerVision Co., Ltd. and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan. The program aims to enhance the capabilities of the national EV workforce, support the growth of the modern automotive industry, and contribute to Thailand's policy of becoming a regional EV manufacturing hub.

          In the opening speech Associate Professor Dr. Kosit Sriputhon The university president said that: “The transition to the electric vehicle era is not just a technological change, but also a restructuring of the country's industry and the development of its human resources. Rajamangala University of Technology Isan therefore prioritizes producing highly skilled personnel, developing research, and fostering collaboration with government agencies and industry to support the concrete growth of the electric vehicle industry. This reaffirms the university's commitment to being a center for learning, research, and academic services in electric vehicles in the Northeast region.”

          Mr. Pisit Boonklay A senior human resources specialist in the Energy Human Resource Development Division, Department of Alternative Energy Development and Conservation (DEDE), Ministry of Energy, stated that: "Organizing training courses on "Building New Knowledge and Skills in Electric Vehicles (The "EV) for the Automotive Industry, 4th Generation" program is part of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Capability Development Project, implemented by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Conservation. This project aims to develop personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to support the transition of the Thai automotive industry to electric vehicles. This aligns with the government's policy of positioning Thailand as a key global hub for electric vehicle and component manufacturing, under the 30@30 target and the pursuit of a low-carbon society.

          This training marks another significant step in the collaboration between the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy, and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan. The university was entrusted with using the RMUTI-CHELOVE EV TRAINING CENTER as the training venue due to its readiness in terms of laboratories, equipment, and internationally standardized training facilities to support comprehensive teaching and practical training in electric vehicles. Furthermore, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan was also chosen by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency to have faculty and experts from the RMUTI-CHELOVE EV TRAINING CENTER serve as key instructors, imparting knowledge and conducting practical training throughout the course. This training was honored by the participation of highly qualified instructors who shared their knowledge and led the practical training, including:

  • Mr. Phusit Chotisawat Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi.
  • Assistant Professor Chatchan Pothisarn Lecturer, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
  • Professor Dr. Prachuap Inrawong Assistant to the President and Director of the RMUTI Electric Vehicle Institute.
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Tinnakorn Phuwadin Deputy Director of RMUTI Electric Vehicle Institute, Administration and Planning Division
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Rungphet Kongnok Deputy Director of RMUTI Electric Vehicle Institute, Student Affairs and Special Projects Division

The project, held from July 8-10, 2026, attracted 57 participants from government agencies, private sector companies, and automotive and auto parts industries nationwide. The training aimed to prepare participants for the full transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. Over the three days, participants received both theoretical and practical knowledge in safety, electric vehicle system analysis, battery inspection, the use of diagnostic tools, and the installation of electric vehicle charging systems according to standards. This enabled participants to apply the acquired knowledge to their work and enhance their organizations' capabilities effectively. Key topics covered included:

  • Policies and laws related to electric vehicles.
  • Trends in the electric vehicle industry.
  • Personal protective equipment for workers operating electric vehicles.
  • Components and operating principles of electric vehicles.
  • High voltage battery
  • Battery Management System (BMS)
  • Motor and drivetrain, steering system, braking system, air conditioning system.
  • Electric vehicle troubleshooting tools
  • Installation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations (EVSE).

          The implementation of this project reflects the role of... Electric Vehicle Institute, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan As a key mechanism in driving the country's strategy for developing human resources in electric vehicles, and as a center for learning, research, testing, and technology transfer in electric vehicles, it is ready to support the sustainable development of Thailand's future automotive industry.
